The perfect slow burn romantacy

Loved this series! This series has all of my favorite things: romance, fantasy, adventure, a good storyline that doesn’t drag on but still has depth. It’s the perfect amount of slow burn. The build up doesn’t drag on and on. The writing is amazing, and the narration is excellent. I highly recommend for anyone who likes romantasy

Even better than the first book

This book was full of adventure and romance. It was so well written and I really enjoyed Kain’s POV. He is so down bad for Arwen.

Descriptive emotion and spice

It’s written pretty descriptive that it feels like youre there. The spice was also upped in this one, it was really steamy and kinda unexpected

Next book please

This series just gets better. Kate Golden sure knows how to keep me coming back for more. This is the second book in The Sacred Stones series, and it has everything I love in a Romantasy book. Action, adventure, great characters, and sizzling chemistry. Kane and Arwen are both complex characters and had great growth in this book. Arwen especially had to deal with a lot. Watching her go through the stages and grieving and depression that comes with it was heartbreaking. I also lived for Griffin’s and Mari’s interactions; I so hope we see more of them in the next book! And narration was great as well.

Story is amazing~❤️

Story just gets better and better, world expands more, and pacing is great!
Love how Arwen doesn't just fall back into Kane's arms, it takes time and Arwen's reaction is so valid.

The story is getting a little better

I'm not sold on the narrators. Ruby doesn't have enough passion, and sounds more like she is whispering a story to children. Will is a bit better suited to Kane's character, though he also doesn't give enough emotion to the story as it is written.

I liked this second book in the Sacred Stones trilogy slightly more than the first book. The writing is still a bit rough around the edges, making some parts seem more juvenile than others.

The FMC is probably the best written character in the whole book, which makes sense since this is mainly her story. Arwen is flawed, broken, and still mostly naive, and the writing shows that, but there are times when it seems like she has completely forgotten previous experiences with danger or other situations and charges blindly into the same types of trouble over and over again. That isn't a flawed character trait, but it is poor character growth writing.

The MMC, Kane, is an idiot. He is over two centuries old and has been King of Onyx for fifty years, but he acts like an immature idiot who can't make any real decisions. He is so powerful and knows how to use his magic, but for some reason, he doesn't use it when it would make all the difference in a situation.

The ending was pure creepy factor. I'm glad the last book is finally released so I can jump right in and see how the story plays out to its conclusion.

Picking up.

I would probably give it a 4.25 if we didn’t have to do whole stars. I think that the story is picking up and I’m jumping right into the last book.

Decent but not Earthshaking

I’m late to the party with this series. It’s decent while working around the house but nothing blew my hair back. I like more spice in my Romantasy novels than delivered so far. I am 2 hours from finishing book 2 and she’s still a virgin! How is this even possible? LOL! The description for book two said “steamy” which is misleading.

It finally kicked off the last hour of the book and the spice scene was pretty “steamy” and believable.

The writer is talented and I would read something else by her but I don’t think I’m going to bother with book 3, unless I get in a reading slump and need a time filler. I can see where this series would have been more engaging reading versus listening but I don’t have the time. The narration was good but I just didn’t completely feel the passion they imparted.

Good continuation

Again, the narration was great. I don’t think that this book was a filler installment, it added substance to the overall story line. Can’t wait to read the finale.

I enjoyed listening, I couldn’t stop! The writing and performance was great! Would recommend all 3 books!
