I have pressing needs that need a right now answer from the only true and living God of the Bible who showed up and showed out for his people in the days of old. I believe those stories of old, and I believe it when God’s word says that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I don’t want to waste my time in prayer speaking a bunch of words because they might sound good. Instead, I aim to pray A Prayer That Gets Results in the mighty name of Jesus.
This audiobook, A Prayer that Gets Results: Not My Will, But Yours, Lord, is based upon a true story wherein God answered my urgent prayers after first bringing his written word alive to teach me the most amazing lesson in how to pray effectively.
Here is just a snippet of what I experienced one Sunday morning while sitting in the surgery waiting room with my family, as my grandson prepared to go in for emergency surgery:
I spoke, "Father, the baby’s mom would not be able to handle such a loss. Please Father, let the baby survive this."
And I was told instead, "What you need to do is show my people that when they trust me, they will always get their heart's desire. Show them how to trust me, even when their hearts are breaking. Show them how to not give up, even when it seems as if there is no hope. Show them how limiting their views are to a limitless God. Show them that I never leave them, even when they are going thru. I am always there. I have a plan. I have a purpose for the pain. If you trust me, you will receive your heart’s desire."
