Stella Pruitt once had everything going for her. She was a successful makeup artist in Hollywood, and her boyfriend was about to propose to her at any moment. That was until her world came crashing down when her dad had a massive stroke, causing her to have to move back to Townsend, Tennessee, the small town where she grew up.
After a couple of years, she had become somewhat comfortable in her mundane life of work and caring for her father, when she received a call from an old friend, Piper James, a well-known movie director. She let her know that she was coming to town for a movie and was in need of a makeup artist. After meeting up and seeing the desperation of Stella’s finances due to her father’s medical bills, it dawned on Piper that the leading man in her newest movie, Zander Boweman, needed some exposure to what it’s genuinely like to be a southerner in order to truly understand his character. With Stella’s ability to transform his appearance with her makeup skills, he could spend the couple of weeks leading up to Christmas with her and her family and blend in like everyone else. In desperation, Stella said yes.
Yet as the plan is set in motion, it takes a direction that Stella never agreed to. As their mutual attraction continues to grow, she must answer one vital question. Is Zander being sincere, or is the movie star just a really good actor?
