A fantastic read for both teens and adults

If you could sum up A Measure of Disorder in three words, what would they be?

extraordinary, unexpected, brilliant

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved how good natured Jenni was and how she was something special from the start but there are so many amazing characters it is hard to just pick one.

Which character – as performed by Christy Lynn – was your favorite?

I loved how she performed Crank. Her talent for voices was well played in this book. I also thought she did an excellent job with the adults. You could really tell who was who.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

They thought they were on a field trip until everything changed.

Any additional comments?

This book is brilliant on so many levels. The world building alone is smart and well thought out. The most extraordinary thing that stuck out for me was Alan Tucker’s use of not only kids as heroes but adults. So often in middle-grade and early YA, we see books that pull the kids away from adults to have the adventures but here we have them all playing a part. I loved the opposition set up as the children choose their different paths. There is also an underlying theme that is rewarding all on its own. I would recommend this book to both teens and adults who enjoy a great read with a toe in both the real world and the fantastic. I look forward to delving into the rest of series.
