A Matter of Murder

He was known for his financial genius, wealth, and investments around the world. He was also known as conniving, callous, and one of the most powerful men in England. For that very reason that Jonathan Whitfield Sr. was forgiven any social faux pas and insults to other men of his stature. A lesser man would be held accountable for such actions.
It was, therefore, with some surprise but very little sorrow, his man-servant found him at twenty past six on Friday morning in a deplorable state of health.
He was quite dead.
Treating everyone with contempt and disdain, everyone had a motive for wishing him dead. Was it murder or natural causes as the doctor concluded? An American homicide detective with a problematic past, Anderson Bennett, becomes embroiled in that very question while visiting England in 1948.
