A case of mistaken identity and murder with a beautiful young journalist, a handsome young detective and a precocious child.

Bobbie Flynn is always surrounded by death. As an obituary writer in the Hearst-owned newspaper, The New York American, she is sent to write a puff piece about wealthy banker, Hamilton Monk, who committed suicide the week before Christmas.

While Bobbie is at the Monk house, Violet, the daughter of the Monk family lawyer, Fitzroy Belmont, is kidnapped when she is mistaken for the granddaughter of the deceased banker.

Mayhem ensues as Bobbie investigates with the unwilling yet willing help of Detective Nolan as her disapproving father, Inspector Flynn looks on. They uncover secrets and lies at the heart of a mystery with a child who refuses to stay kidnapped, a Russian henchman to die for and murder...

The Bobbie Flynn Mysteries are by turns a thrilling, twisty, romantic cocktail set in 1920’s Prohibition New York. They include real life historical figures from the period including Damon Runyon. Perfect for readers who enjoy the feel of a cozy mystery without on the page sex, violence or bad language.

Bobbie Flynn features in the Kit and Mary Aston book, ‘The New Year’s Eve Murders’, as a guest character.

OK.. so this book is narrated by virtual voice. That of course, is not the ideal narration for any book, but this book overcomes any shortage in the narration. And quite honestly, the only real problem with the narration is the interpretation of male voices.. other than that it really flows along. And it is truly an engaging story with multiple engaging characters. I had already listened to another of the author’s books which was equally good.. a different voice narration, but this book is equally good and would recommend it to anyone who is willing to just give it a chance and get past the fact that it’s virtual voice. I have listened to some real narrators who didn’t do any better job. And the one comment in this book that I just absolutely had to laugh at was what one of the “villains” (and he really isn’t) was thinking about his situation: “ “He believed in evil. He had seen it first hand. He had escaped from it in Russia only to find that it had a different skin in America, and you could vote for them every four years.” Absolutely soooo true!!! Lol!! Will read the next in the series as well as any other book that this author has to offer. One small sidenote: there’s a little off color language and one kind of low sexual comment, but for the most part, the book is acceptable along those lines.

Fantastic Story!!
