Why read this book?
As a nurse practitioner, I knew a lot about doing breast exams and when to refer patients for mammograms but when a patient had an abnormal mammogram, they went to an oncologist for care so I found that there was quite a bit that I didn’t know about breast cancer. I was able to find my own breast cancer at an early stage but had lots to learn about types of breast cancer and treatment. Fortunately, I’m also good at researching medical topics so was able to do lots of reading and learning.
Triple negative breast cancer is an especially scary diagnosis and, since I’m also an author, I decided to share my journey and give readers an idea of what the experience of getting diagnosed and going thru treatment is like. My goal is to give you the information you need to know, about the decisions you will be facing and how you can do everything possible to get thru treatment successfully. As with my other books about health, I have tried to keep things simple and easy to understand without a lot of complex science to wade thru.
