Resumen del Editor

Rory O'Brian is a man haunted by his past - by the best friend he couldn't save and the enigmatic woman who slipped out of his grasp. Now he has a real specter to deal with. The ghostly apparition visits Rory at night, bringing bone-chilling warnings of dark things to come.

Mina Johnson comes to his aid like a knight in shining armor. Or shiny lip gloss. As the founder of Spiorad, a paranormal investigation agency, she's the ideal person to help Rory with his mysterious ghost girl. At least, she would be, if she weren't also the woman who spent one glorious, mind-bending night with him years ago.

As the former lovers work together to solve the mystery surrounding his home, it becomes apparent Mina is not only the perfect person to help Rory exorcise the literal ghosts in his house but to help him battle the demons of his past.

Came for the story, stayed for the narration

I wasn’t sure what I was getting into story wise with this one. I heard PNR and was automatically on board. The story had a lot of complexities. I thought it was going to be pretty run of the mill when it started, but it got pretty deep once the plot really got moving. I love the rockstar twist to this one too! I wasn’t expecting Rockstar Romance meets X-Files, but I’m here for it!

The narration was fabulous. I really like her voice, it has a very soothing/grounded tone, and her timbre is so smooth. Her voices are on point, including accents. So, you go girl!

Well worth your credit for the month if your looking for an entertaining listen.

Started well, became a bit unoriginal/convoluted.

The premise as written in the publisher’s summary was the story it started as (and the story I wanted). By the end we were off on a plot loosely based on the Hale-Bopp Comet/Heaven’s Gate cult, a version of suicidal pseudo-religious zealots.
The book started well then went awry, badly, and with sudden psychic powers and ghost-friend grief/guilt thrown in (for bad measure). There were almost too many subplots for this length book. It seemed as though this was a sequel, due to the numerous (though not detailed) mention of various previous events. I would have eliminated/combined a few characters to remove some (yes, minor) confusion which may have also made the plot tighter. We *glimpsed* some character development building but it never really panned out.
Cassandra Medcalf did a fine job as narrator. I’m not honestly sure if the reason I gave her three versus four stars was due to her performance or the writing (lack of clarity of characters speaking). I would listen to her narrate another book.
If there is a sequel to this book, I most probably wouldn’t buy it.
