A Gentle Kiss from God is the culmination of a life punctuated with roadblocks, depression, mental abuse, and post-abuse fallout; a life that finds comfort and hope in a deep trust in God; a creative young woman who seeks expression through her Christian faith from early childhood and her love of writing. The result? A book of thoughts and passions that comes together in the pulse of poetry and song, hope and beauty. Despite her own life that had despaired for love and harmony, her writings erupt into hope and comfort, strength, beauty, and a joie de vivre!
This book is a heartfelt and yielding labor of love and devotion to the One who gives meaning to life; that person is the Lord, Jesus Christ. As Carol's life is disrupted with harsh conditions, words of hope, etched from the heart of God, find their way to pen and paper. As the landscape of her life changes, she keeps writing. Original lyrics and notes paint a portrait of peace, grounded in her faith, that serves to enrich the listener. A warm tranquility drifts in with short, sweet verse offering a model to approach and greet the Savior. And vibrant seasonal poems depict God's grace in carrying the author through the angst and disarray of her early adult life.
Carol remembers the words from the Psalms of David that buoyed her on desperate days: "I have set the Lord before me and I shall not be moved." Another: "Lovingkindness and tender mercies are mine through Him. He will deliver me from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. I shall call upon Him and He will answer me. My hope is in You, Lord. Loving kindness in the daytime. His song shall be with me at night. In You, Lord, I put my trust."
A Gentle Kiss from God is the author's style of telling the world that the Lord Jesus Christ is real and approachable! And that He wants you to share your life with Him. He wants to be there for you and grant you peace and joy in this life and in the life to come.
