Resumen del Editor

A Dweller on Two Planets or The Dividing of the Way, a book by Frederick Spencer Oliver, was published in 1905. In the introduction, Oliver claims that the work had been channeled through him by means of automatic writing, visions, and mental dictations by a spirit called Phylos the Thibetan.

The book provides a first person account of Atlantean society which had reached a high level of technological and scientific advancement. His personal history, and that of a group of souls with whom Phylos interacted, are related in the context of the social, economic, political and religious structures of Atlantis.

Some of the devices described in the book have since become a reality.

Excellent, timeless

The mystery surrounding this work and the author are as intriguing a the book itself.

The narrator does a good job; this is a very long read! While it is smooth and entertaining, there is much that provokes deep thought. As a result one may require several repeats.

That said, it is a grand adventure for anyone curious about the Atlantean epoch.

No other book like it!!!

Having read hundreds of books on Theosophy and it’s teachings, and having read this one about five times, I still consider this as the greatest book I’ve ever read. Why you ask?
This is the only book that I know which clearly and in great detail illustrates how the actions of one incarnation have immediate consequences on the following incarcerations and beyond. It traces multiple lives on earth and how mistakes and opportunities of one life karmically progress into others along with all the consequences and rewards. Furthermore, this is one of the few books (along with those by Edgar Cayce and his sons) that depicts in great detail the civilization of Atlantis down to the most salient details. It also speaks of a civilization even more powerful than the Atlanteans; who had their asses handed to them when attempting to conquer it. Just imagine- Atlanteans, with interstellar travel abilities, communications technologies that even we can’t dream of, energy based weapons capability, a civilization that subdued the entire planet - had their asses handed to them on a silver platter! Where do we stand in comparison to the Atlanteans in our well inflated Hubris - no more than Rats in a maze! And even that, is a compliment. But I digress…
Read this book very carefully! Preferably on paper (my first four reads were paperbacks). There are way too many nuances and intricate details that can easily be missed when listening. Every word in this book has been spoken/written with prescient intent, and most importantly with stupendous Clairvoyant faculties; such that our humanities’s development will not see for thousands of years to come. But individually - each one of us can reach those heights- today; with proper knowledge and discipline. Enjoy this amazing gift to humanity, there are not many like it.

Great Story

I was not aware that this was a classic until I listened to it , March 2024. I have also read George Washington’s Vision of America in which an angel declares him to be a “son of the republic” and reveals to him the destiny of America. A nation which ceases to morally educate it’s young people is destined for ruin is the truth. Emanuel Swedenborg 1688-1772 author of “Heaven and Hell” and “Other Planets” really plays well with the concepts in this volume of 3 books, although Swedenborg didn’t discuss reincarnation, exactly. Edgar Cayce, the sleeping prophet also is very intriguing on the subject of Atlantis although when he was awake had no belief in reincarnation but was a humble Sunday school teacher. Joseph Smith is mentioned along with The Book of Mormon in a negative context. The Book of Mormon repudiates plural marriage and fills in the gap between the old and new testaments of the Bible as another witness of Jesus Christ, although Joseph Smith started the practice of plural marriage and Brigham Young perpetuated it along with safely organizing a mass exodus to unincorporated territory, later referred to as Utah, after the martyrdom of Joseph. The Mentinah Archives are a recent uncovering of records of ancient date which play well with the concepts in that volume of several books, which may not sit well with LDS church members because it warns of the dangers of pride and how the gifts of the spirit cannot be used when oppression is imposed upon a people by their rulers, whether men over women, any race over another, etc. I love the volumes of The Nemenhah of Mentinah because of the love story which was the founding of a great egalitarian nation in the American West.
So far as this story goes, I take it as truth as far as it leads a soul to greater love of God and the neighbor. Namaste.
