OMG...another rough ride through the plot

This author kept me on the edge of my seat for the entire story...even through the parts where I wanted to look away. Once again the author has no problem with primary characters going through devastating events that aren't always ok at the end. Suspenseful complicated plot that doesn't get lost in the details. Recommend this series, but be aware that it's not sparkles and rainbows.

Heartthrob and Heartache Adventure

Prepare your heart! It is just as sad as the second book, but without a satisfying end at all. The wait for the next book shall be brutal.

The writing has really progressed in this one, and you can note advancements in stylistic choices that give the book a better flow. The book also continues to be every bit as exciting and attention holding as a solid fantasy adventure should be.

There is also sadly less steaminess in this one as compared to the previous books. It was there alright, it just didn't leave you fully satisfied.

The characters also made glaringly obvious strategic doozies from the beginning. Some of the powers could have been used in ways that didn't require particular intelligence to think up, so that will nag at you if you pin them out. It was still vividly entertaining, and you could really follow the sway of the scenes.

And let's not forget to give a standing ovation to Joel's Leslie's immaculate performance, as usual.

Please tell me there’s more

To say I have loved this book would be an understatement. Highly recommend this series to all my friends. Honestly I can’t wait to hear more

Holy shit

I am at a loss for words. The world-building, the character development, the PLOT TWIST?! Exquisite...when's the next book coming out?

Major cliffhanger

Love this series and oh what an unexpected cliffhanger. Looking forward to the next book!

Story: meh. Performance: great

I’m not sure why I made it to book 3. I should have stopped at 1. I like the author and love the narrator but this story was so bad. The character development is non existent. The plot is weak. The world building was a huge miss.

The hardest part for me was hating the MC/narrator character. He’s weak, self centered, stupid beyond all understanding, whiny, refuses to listen to anyone friend or foe. It’s hard to connect to a story when you hate the MC that much.

There were some spots where the writing got so bad I just fast forwarded past it. Entire paragraphs spent foreshadowing the very next statement. ‘What he told me next rocked me to my core and devoured everything in my soul, “Pickles.” (I made that line up but it really is that bad) Such a weak plot didn’t need that much foreshadowing- it needed a shredder and a match.

I was not expecting half of the things to happen 😭

but omg it’s so good, got confused at some point but I can’t wait to reread and figure it out. Will never get over some of these plot twist and can’t wait for the next book!
