Resumen del Editor

What if a fascinating stranger knew you better than you know yourself?

When her husband comes home with a farfetched story about eating dinner with someone he believes to be Jesus, Mattie Cominsky thinks this may signal the end of her shaky marriage. Convinced that Nick is, at best, turning into a religious nut, the self-described agnostic hopes that a quick business trip will give her time to think things through.

On board the plane, Mattie strikes up a conversation with a fellow passenger. When she discovers their shared scorn for religion, she confides her frustration over her husband’s recent conversion. The stranger suggests that perhaps her husband isn’t seeking religion but true spiritual connection, an idea that prompts her to reflect on her own search for fulfillment.

As their conversation turns to issues of spiritual longing and deeper questions about the nature of God, Mattie finds herself increasingly drawn to this insightful stranger. But when the discussion unexpectedly turns personal, touching on things she’s never told anyone, Mattie is startled and disturbed. Who is this man who seems to peer straight into her soul?

Reseñas de la Crítica

“Don’t let David Gregory’s simple writing style fool you: the message shared throughout A Day with a Perfect Stranger is profound and the questions he raises are life changing.”–Liz Curtis Higgs, best-selling author of Bad Girls of the Bible

“Fasten your seatbelt for another marvelously divine encounter with the Perfect Stranger! Once again, Gregory masterfully demonstrates just how passionately and intimately our God loves each one of us. If you are looking for an encouraging faith encounter, the Perfect Stranger books are the most palatable and powerful tools of our day.”–Shannon Ethridge, best-selling author of Every Woman’s Battle and Every Woman’s Marriage

“While I liked Dinner with a Perfect Stranger very much, I loved A Day with a Perfect Stranger. This book has the potential to make people think about what drives them, what keeps them from God, and what will ultimately fulfill them. In a feelings-based and satisfaction-driven society, this is an invaluable tool. People are hungering for the answers to questions Mattie gets to ask. I can't wait to hand it out to friends who do not yet know the Stranger in their midst.”–Lisa Tawn Bergren, best-selling author of The Begotten

The entire series!

The Perfect Stranger trilogy is perhaps the best modern example of having a relationship with God you will find.

Worthy follow up to Dinner With a Perfect Stranger

The story continues - with new insights to add on to the ones presented in the first book. I would recommend reading the first book first. David Gregory has done a great job with the material he goes over to give clear understanding of Christianity.

Explains the Heart of God

This is an incredible sequel to ‘Dinner with a Perfect Stranger.’ In this book, we get to see Maddie’s point of view on the change in her husband Nick after his dinner with Jesus in the previous novel.

Exploring a woman’s mind and feelings is a wonderful change. Instead of focusing on the science, as the first book did, this book connects more with the emotional side. Both are relevant, make no mistake about that. Each person’s journey to and with God are unique, and thus sequel shows a different way to consider the invitation.

For those who are exploring and for those who enjoyed the first book, this is an emotional and heartfelt look into just how God feels about us. Recommended for sure!

The voice..

I agree with the other reviewer - the voice was so incredibly whiny I could barely stand it. Nails on the chalkboard. It's a good story but the voice ruined it. It would have been better had they replaced the female voice completely and add a male voice for the Jesus dialog. Pass on the audio version but do pick up the book. The DVD is also very good.

not my thing

The "exploration of spirituality, God, and the quest for meaningful connection" from the title description misled me. I was actually looking for a snappy, entertaining and - given the length of the title - short debate on philosophical approaches towards religion.
What I got is a song of praise of the (Christian) god.
Anyone buying this book should be aware of this.
The narration was not exciting though it served the purpose.
