Forbidden love in the heart of Regency London…
Timothy Ashcroft is a man torn between duty and desire. Tired of the shallow and pretentious world of London's aristocracy, he yearns for a true connection, one devoid of society's expectations.
That's when he meets Emma Woodley, a charming florist with a sharp wit and a genuine spirit.
As their friendship deepens into something more, they must navigate the harsh opposition of the ton, who would never accept their forbidden love.
But as Timothy's family pressures him to uphold his duty, he discovers a shocking secret about his true identity and his inheritance.
Forced to choose between his birthright and the woman he loves, Timothy faces an agonizing dilemma.
But it might already be too late because Emma has a mind of her own, and she might see Timothy’s secret as a betrayal.
This sweet Regency romance is filled with wit, charm, and plenty of heart.
If you enjoy stories of forbidden love and defying societal expectations, you won't be able to put down this first installment in the Charms of Chaste Court series.
Please note that each book in the Charms of Chaste Court can be read as a standalone and in any order.

Cute for a young, new-to-Regency reader
Author writes some lovely phrases, but uses an over-abundance of similes and metaphors. Voice and perspective of the writing feel a little off. Even for a novella, the story seems too forced. It’s also not apparent if the author is aware of time-period customs, or just ignores them for simplicity of the story.
The AI narration does not help this story be more appealing. I wonder if i would have enjoyed it as a quick read instead of listening.
Overall, the idea is cute, but underdeveloped. The similes and metaphors are written well, but overdone. Perhaps this is a good novella better suited for a younger teenage audience with little familiarity with Regency social customs.
