On Christmas morning, guilt drives one of the officers, Vernon Jordan, to a crumbling apartment building, his arms full of gifts for the woman and child left behind. It isn’t redemption. It isn’t forgiveness. It’s simply what remains when the world breaks—and someone tries, however imperfectly, to make something right.
