The first amendment of America’s constitution gives us, among other freedoms, our freedom to practice spiritual faith without interference from the government.
Christians are told to be a “light” to a lost world. While we may be part of this world, we are not worldly.
While the first amendment forbids the government from involvement in our spirituality, there is nothing that prohibits people of faith from influencing the government. We can participate in civil service, governmental meetings, and voting.
