Resumen del Editor

The only success book you will ever need!

"Jean Marie Stine is a goddess in plain clothes." (Tina Tessian, author of The 10 Smartest Decisions a Woman Can Make After 40)

Research shows that those who take the eight steps covered in this groundbreaking book have an almost 100 percent likelihood of accomplishing all that they set out to do. Do you want to get that promotion, bust that sales quota, start or save a business, raise funds for your church, win a marathon, find romance - and otherwise realize your personal and professional dreams? The author of this empowering new book has worked as editor and student with such renowned authorities on success and performance as Anthony Robbins, Marianne Williamson, Charles Garfield, Jean Houston, and Julia Cameron. Now, for the first time, she shares the secrets she learned from them and while teaching her own renowned seminars and workshops. When all is said and done, she writes, what separates those who realize their aims and those who don’t are eight characteristic ways of acting.

Successful people always:

  1. Clarify Their Goals
  2. Become a Doer
  3. Develop Fearlessness
  4. Believe in Their Success
  5. Take Responsibility
  6. Generate Enthusiasm
  7. Bounce Back from Setbacks
  8. Cross the Finish Line

Developing them may sound intimidating, but the author, who has been praised for her ability to make learning a breeze, has assembled a collection of easy-to-follow step-by-step exercises that make building the characteristics that will carry you to success simple and natural. In today's fast-paced, competitive world, it's important to keep up, to get ahead - 8 Simple Steps to Realizing Your Dreams will give you the tools you need to do exactly that.

Among the success skills you’ll learn are:

  • How to apply the “get real” principle to fine-tune your goals
  • How to develop the mental set of a “doer” by changing the way you "talk to yourself"

Coaching Common Sense

I had to google the author to see if she had been a teacher or professor since listening to this had me picturing her using a chalkboard for her bazillion quotes. (Learning she is an anthologist and had been the Senior Editor for Self-Help books explained how she acquired so many.)

I’m an older woman, now retired, but never too old to learn new things. Unfortunately, I found her book to be basic common sense best suited for a much younger audience.

The narrator was good with what he had to work with.

All you need to know in one book

Sometimes common sense is not so common and it’s only when we are reminded of the steps needed to happen to become successful but we realize where we’ve gone wrong. There are so many great tips in this book it is almost like a roadmap to success. My favorite one is to always take responsibility if you’re busy blaming others you will not take the steps necessary to achieve your goal. There’s seven more steps in this book that are just as great add to miss just one is going to put up a barrier in your attempt to be and achieve your goal. I think every senior in high school should read this book and then have to read it again right before they graduate college. Sometimes Booksmart does not equal commonsense smart. I also appreciated how the narrator didn’t have a dry boring tone to his voice as I read this book. It was more conversational as was the writing. something I truly appreciate when reading a self-help book can be for the most part very boring. I didn’t find this one to be I got through it this is that it was over three hours long, but didn’t feel that long.
