    Join Jim and Greg for the Friday edition of the 3 Martini Lunch as they cover three big stories: the arrest of Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin, whether this tragedy will further silence conservative speech on campus, and Kamala Harris’ contradictory claims about Joe Biden’s re-election bid.

    First, they breathe a sigh of relief as Kirk's 22-year-old alleged murderer is taken into custody. They react to reports that the suspect's family members played key roles in the arrest and there was anti-fascist" writings on the ammunition. They also rip the lefties who argue that Antifa can't really be a problem because they label themselves as anti-fascists.

    Next, they dig into concerns that Kirk's assassination will make it harder to have conservative voices on campus because schools will argue they cannot afford security and the student groups can't either. They also weigh in on the debate over whether people who repulsively posted their excitement over Kirk's murder should lose their jobs.

    Finally, they end the week on the lighter side by noting Kamala Harris' forthcoming book will say it was "reckless" for Joe Biden to try to run for re-election. At the same time, Harris insists Biden was perfectly up to the job. So which is it? Jim also notes how Biden loyalists are now publicly attacking Harris through anonymous quotes in response and the GOP should start popping the popcorn.

    First, they examine the murder of Kirk at Utah Valley University, breaking down the latest developments in the investigation. They cover details on the weapon used, the ongoing manhunt for the suspect, and evidence suggesting transgender ideology and Antifa extremism may have motivated the attack. They also reflect on the shock and revulsion at hearing the news.

    Next, they chronicle the execrable coverage of the shooting on MSNBC. From the very beginning, anchor Katy Tur implicitly blamed Utah's gun laws. Commentator Matthew Dowd blamed Kirk's "hate speech" for inciting his own shooting. Dowd was fired before the end of the day. And while many on the left did express outrage over the shooting, way too many lefties on social media brazenly celebrated Kirk's death.

    Then, they look back on what Kirk accomplished in his 31 years and whether this tragedy will finally push the nation to confront the forces driving such violence or if it signals a darker tipping point ahead.

    Finally, they reflect on the 24 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

    Join Jim and Greg for the Wednesday 3 Martini Lunch as they tackle a pivotal Senate race twist, Israel striking Hamas leaders in Qatar, Russia violating NATO airspace, and the brutal downward revision of U.S. job growth.

    First, after noting that the Democrats may end up with a fierce U.S. primary in Maine, Jim and Greg break down the Israeli bombing of Hamas targets in Doha, Qatar. Several of the highest ranking figures survived but it sends a clear message to Hamas. Of course, the usual domestic and international voices are condemning Israel's actions.

    Next, they react to at least 19 Russian drones entering Polish airspace. Three of them were shot down, possibly more. This is another example of Putin crossing boundaries to see what the response will be. Jim offers some advice to the U.S. government on a message that he wants to be very loud and very clear.

    Finally, they shudder as the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) revised job growth from April 2024-March 2025 downward by more than 900,000 jobs. The BLS revised the numbers down by more than 800,000 the year before that. Greg wonders whether the monthly jobs reports still provide much value if they are regularly way off base. Jim offers some practical and comical reasons for why the monthly reports need to stay.
