The Bible is true when it says the borrower is the slave to the lender. When you are in debt it seems you don't have a life!
I remember a time I was in debt to the tune of about $500,000! Today I have only 2% left (I know that too will vanish like the rest) - God is good. Ninety-nine percent of that debt was simply cancelled.
Yes the process of coming out was painful, and yes it was not a walk in the park, but the word of God that He wants us to be lenders and not borrowers is true and He works to bring this to pass in Christ Jesus.
