Resumen del Editor

This book begins in Denver. Planes fall from the sky, volcanic ash fills the air, and three people are stuck on the side of a mountain. How they survive the first few days and the steps they take can kill them, or not. Mistakes are made. Relationships tested. Unexpected twists and turns keep the listener engaged.

*Note: All books in this series can be listened to in any order (the first was published in August of 2022). The characters and locations are different in each book, but the center of the stories are the volcanos that erupt throughout North America and the ensuing chaos.

Not my cup of tea

Three friends caught in an apocalyptic scenario caused by volcanos and earthquakes. Turns into a story about one main character leaving a whacko girlfriend and losing a friend while traveling from Colorado to Texas shore to survive. The things that happen thru the journey makes you wonder, who these kids are, all under 20 yet readily able to accept they world is ending, never seeing their family again, and knowing how to immediately survive and shoot people. Yea, not believable nor really worth the read.

A scarily plausible future

This book was overall pretty good. It really had the potential to be great!
Excellent plot, strong characters and character development as well as adaptation.
A grave future lies ahead if this is how people will treat each other when the lights go out and don't come back one.
The story flows well and the hiccups and twists will keep you engaged.
The downfall comes at the end of the story. It felt rushed and abruptly ended. It was totally a bummer.
If there is a sequel, I will listen to it because there must be more to this story.
The narration was over all good, although it took several chapters to get used to.
The different tones used for each character were not that different and some were repeated for later characters which created an odd fiction that didn't feel correct at first.
However, you get used to it and the desire to finish the story overcomes.

Friends come in Many Different Modes

The narrator made this book easy to listen to. Although this book is set in an apocalyptic setting, it handles the issues of friends working together in a powerful way. I enjoyed the book even though I rarely read this genre. I read it because I enjoy LeRoy Clary's writing and I was not disappointed.
