We are pastoring today and are raising four awesome kids in Texas. I love my wife and kids so much. I thank God for all the hard times, the good times, and the pain. Through it all I have learned much about this topic; evangelism. It is my heartfelt wish and prayer you learn something and that it is useful. I wrote 20/20 Evangelism in a conversational way. To be more exact, as if we are sitting at a coffee shop and talking face to face.
As a pastor I have spent a bunch of time in bookstores, Christian and otherwise. I try to look for resources that make me a better Christian, person, leader, pastor, father, and whatever else I need to be. For so long I have had this dream to write about evangelism. When I would search for good books, I would see one about administrative, discipleship, bible studies, translations, and personal biographies, etc. The one topic that never seemed to be addressed was soul winning, evangelism, or sharing your faith.
Jesus put in my heart the desire to call the church to evangelism; to train the church on how to share their faith and to overcome excuses and obstacles in the way. This book you are listening to will hopefully be a two-pronged blessing. The first is that you will identify your obstacle and overcome it. The second will be helpful to answer people’s toughest questions and extinguish the fire of their excuses.
What you're listening to right now is a training manual for evangelism and a resource manual for the tough parts of telling someone about Jesus. It is written as an easy listen, with stories and examples from my life. The Bible is the key to unlocking all our problems in life. I will be using many examples from the Word to highlight this great need.
