The novel 1984, authored by George Orwell and arranged as well as narrated by Junaid Ikram, features various unique character voices.

1984 is a seminal work of dystopian fiction written by British author George Orwell. Born Eric Arthur Blair in 1903, Orwell was known for his sharp criticism of totalitarian regimes and impassioned advocacy of democratic socialism. Orwell’s experiences as a police officer in colonial Burma, a fighter in the Spanish Civil War, and a critic of Stalinist Russia profoundly influenced his writing. His firsthand observations of political manipulation and the corrupting nature of power are deeply embedded in his works.

Eric Arthur Blair, better known by his pen name George Orwell, selected this name after his favorite location, the River Orwell. Renowned for his lucid prose and incisive social criticism, Orwell, as a novelist, poet, essayist, journalist, and critic, consistently opposed totalitarianism in all its forms—whether left-wing authoritarian communism or right-wing fascism—and advocated for democratic socialism.

George Orwell’s text for the novel 1984 is categorized under ‘Literary Narrative.’ All supplementary elements such as scene numbers, titles, and descriptions have been organized by Junaid Ikram and are presented under ‘Scenario Narrative.’ This clear distinction ensures that the original text and its detailed framework are easily navigable for listeners and analysts alike.

The novel is divided into three parts, each with additional descriptions. It comprises a total of twenty-four chapters and one hundred and forty-six scenes. An original appendix, written by the author George Orwell, is also included.
