Through the examination of birth charts and the analysis of planetary alignments, astrology seeks to provide valuable insights and guidance to individuals. The scope of astrology extends far beyond individual birth charts. It encompasses a wide range of branches, each offering unique perspectives and applications. Natal astrology interprets an individual's birth chart, providing a thorough understanding of their inherent traits, potential strengths, and areas for personal growth. Horary astrology addresses specific questions by analyzing astrological patterns at the time of inquiry. A birth chart, also known as a natal chart, serves as a map depicting the planetary positions at the time of an individual's birth. This chart is a tool in astrology used to gain an understanding of a person's personality traits, strengths, weaknesses, and life trajectory. Calculated based on the individual's birth date, time, and place, the birth chart is divided into twelve houses, each associated with different aspects of life like career, relationships, and spirituality. The positions of the sun, moon, and planets in zodiac signs further contribute to insights about an individual's personality and life experiences. Astrologers utilize birth charts to offer valuable perspectives on an individual's life path, personality, and potential future events.
Astrology is based on the interplay of nine planets, twelve signs and twelve houses of chart. The chart is prepared based on the time of birth of a person or event. To understand any astrological chart, firstly we need to be familiarised with the basic terminology of astrology, which we will cover in the first chapter. Thereafter we will study the planets in detail. In the next volumes, we will cover Signs and Nakshatras and then their inter-relationship and other aspects.
