"I loved this audio book by Diane Chamberlain. A newborn baby is found on the beach and the search for the mother begins. There are many female characters in this book and each one has a story which leads you to believe she is the mother of Shelly. A great beach read, especially if you live in the outer banks and barrier islands of North Carolina which is the location of the story. There are many twists and turns that are familiar to most of Ms. Chamberlain's books. I had a hard time pulling the earplugs from my ears as I just wanted to continue to the end of this book. The book is long (but not at all boring) and gives the listener a chance to really get to know all the players. But somewhat serious too, with a main protagonist that I could really relate to and commiserate with, as well as a number of messages of acceptance and redemption (non preachy).
