VIP was a coming of age story about Ysabelle Telle. She grew up poor, alone, and independent. In order to survive she used her body to seduce wealthy men.

Overall:
It’s interesting what my mind remembers from this book. I read this back in 2014 almost 5 years ago, but for some reason I don’t remember the long introduction with Olivia and Julia.

It has that bait and switch intro that originally grabbed my attention back in 2014. Now that I know the direction of the story and where these characters are headed I’m growing impatient to reach the scenes that I remember fondly.

With the switching back and forth between points of view I confused myself into combining Olivia’s character with Ysabelle’s. I kept thinking the scenes from Olivia’s childhood were Ysabelle having changed her name later in life. I had no idea that Ysabelle was an entirely separate character created for the sake of filling Olivia’s void.

I had a love/hate relationship with Sebastian Vanwell’s character. I respected his commitment to maintaining friendship between the girls, yet I hated how indecisive he was. I wanted him to man up and make a selfish choice instead of waiting for the choice to be made for him.

Narrator:
Sierra Kline was the solo performer of VIP. Her tone was perfect for Ysabelle. However, I envisioned something sexier and raspier for the voice of Madam. Of course I always prefer a male narrator to voice the male characters. In this case, I thought it was imperative that a male narrator with the deep timber voice would have enhanced the performance. That wasn’t the case. I managed to enjoy the scenes with only one narrator.

The sound of Sierra pronouncing words with the “sss” was loud in my headphones. It was piercing listening to the slur of “sss” from each word. The hissing sound was ear piercing.
The power of sex. The customer and the escort.

I had hoped the audiobook performance would enhance my experience considering I waited quite some time to invest in this audiobook. I read the entire trilogy feeling on cloud 9 only to be disappointed by my revisit. It was a combination of the solo narrator performance and the dialogue that had me feelings less than enthusiastic.

Settling for the best friend not realizing more was awaiting. The heart wants what the heart wants. A woman who belongs to no one but herself.
No moral compass
The story didn’t begin to get interesting until the halfway mark when Sebastian and Ysabelle met. It’s at this point that I remember loving the direction of the story. This connection between the escort and yacht salesman was scorching hot.
I sold myself for money. I was at the mercy of whoever purchased my time. Ysabelle gave him perspective in his choices.
One with the emotional connection and the other with the physical
The forbidden lovers belonging to others. Moral dilemma. Escort and the married family man. Angst. All these components made for an exciting read. The best of both worlds.
When you can have your cake and eat it too despite the consequences although nothing comes easy when crossing the forbidden line.
I loved the dual points of view having Sebastian’s thoughts was amazing.
How can something so wrong be so right.

AMAZING

I have listened to several audio books and I usually perfer both a male and female narrators however Sierra Kline does an absolutely fantastic job. Monica Robinson gives us a beautiful story as always. I highly recommend this book to everyone who loves an epic love story.

Sebastian and Ysabelle have to be two of my favorite messed up characters ever!!! I loved this series and I want more!

Yes, I would recommend this audiobook to a friend. I loved Sierra Kline's voice. It was different for each character.

I loved the steamy, passionate characters. I felt like I could visual the characters in my minds eye. You got to know them, connect and follow their journey's through life.

Her unique sexy voice and passion. Her ability to separate the character's with her voice.

Definitely Listen

This book went far beyond what I was expecting. In the beginning, I was actually a little disappointed that there wasn't more sex. I'm not (too) ashamed to admit that after reading the synopsis, I expected this to be more on the erotica side. Quickly, I realized that this was so much better. Despite it being longer than a lot of books I've listened to lately, it shouldn't have been able to make me feel like I lived these characters' entire lives with them. The most impressive part was how that feeling accompanied by boredom. It's a tricky balance and this audiobook nailed it.

The narration was awesome - no wind tunnel effects, quality editing, and no distracting mispronunciations. She did an outstanding job of portraying each character's personality (without going over the top).

Most incredible narrator ever!

Simply amazing! Ive listened to 200 plus books, no single narrarator has ever done mult characters like she has! And M Robinson sleighed it too!

Fun and steamy!

I liked this book more and more as it continued. By the end, I didn't really want it to end. I thought the characters were well developed though the dialogue was a little cheesy at times. I'm not sure if it was the narration or the writing but it didn't do much damage, just reminded me that it was fictional.
Yes, there is a lot of cussing, sex talk, and even some drug use. Lots of description. I didn't think it was gross or over the top but I tend to swear a lot myself so maybe that's why it wasn't offensive.
I think the dirty talk was just the right amount, making it super steamy and realistic. The drug scene was very realistic, having tried it myself, I felt the author did a great job conveying the meaning and feeling of the scene without making it over the top.
I very much enjoyed the connection the characters shared. I hope there's a second book... I'll def be on the lookout!

Just a beautiful twisted Love Story. One of the best stories I have had the pleasure of listening to. I have found that all of M. Robinsons books have a real LOVE feel to them. There is a journey to be taken here. Hang on and enjoy the ride.
