A true (enough) story, because sometimes real life is hotter than a fantasy!

I haven't slept in a week. Because of my neighbor, you see. He's up all night with his girlfriend, having more sex than an adult film star, except they're nowhere near as good at it. And with these thin walls, it's safe to say I'm never going to sleep again.

So what does a lonely girl in Japan do when she's bombarded with a lack of sleep and love on the brain? She makes some questionable online dating decisions, of course!

Follow me, Cyndi, as I descend into some of the craziest days of my life. Dealing with creepy swipe-righters, fighting pharmacies for rubber prophylactics, getting lost in sleepy Japanese neighborhoods, staring at a bedazzled karaoke machine....

Oh, and meeting the one-night stand who would become the love of my life. And the perfect revenge against my ridiculous neighbor.

This was a fun 3 hours. Ava Lucas's voice is fun, pleasant, animated, great with accents and she knows how to tell a story,... and what a story it is. Like the author mentioned in the beginning, it is like sitting down with a close friend and listen to her shenanigans from her last trip. Some of the expressions heard and the internal monologue of the author are hilarious, snarky and so realistic that I could totally imagine her doing this or that. I laughed out loud while shopping and have others grin too... or frown because I startled them. Hadrien, the guy she meets, turns out to be sweet and hawt too. It was funny how the language barrier made for some hilarious misunderstandings. Loved the ending and I am glad Ms. Dane changed it to give us a HEA.

4 Crazy Ass Stars!!!

Here's another case of the narration made the story for me. I'm not sure I would have like the story as much as I did had I just read it. Don't get me wrong, it was funny and sexy and I did enjoy the storyline. Ava Lucas just did a hell of a job with the narration.

This was my first Cynthia Dane's book. This was a fun and short listen. The narration was really well done and easy to listen to, as always with Ava Lucas! I received this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
