Acerca de esta escucha
Darryl Littleton, pka D'Militant, is a comedy historian, a writer, a stand-up comedian, a producer, and an actor. Known for his crackling wit as well as his slicing and incisive social and political commentary, in Too Raw for Mainstream he gives you his uncensored opinions on today's topics. No subject is out of bounds, no topic too sensitive, no commentary too raw.
D'Militant has mentored and written for over 100 comedians. He started his career writing sketches for The Tom Joyner Morning Show on CBS Radio. Soon afterward, he became a regular at the world-famous Comedy Store. It didn't take long before Darryl became exclusive writer for D. L. Hughley during his tenure as host of BET's Comic View. He moved on to be writer/producer for the show, where he penned material for Cedric the Entertainer, Sommore, and Don DC Curry. He traveled with Katt Williams as his writer and opener on the road at the height of Katt's fame.
On camera, he has guest starred on Robert Townsend's WB sitcom The Parent Hood; been seen as a recurring performer on Townsend's variety show Townsend Television for Fox; and appeared on HBO's Def Comedy Jam, Comedy Central's Make Me Laugh, Martin Lawrence's 1st Amendment, Telemundo's Loco Comedy Jam, Byron Allen's Comic's Unleashed, and ABC's America's Funniest People, where he was the grand prize winner.
Darryl has toured Europe and Asia as a stand-up comedian, performed for the US military, toured the nation as a public speaker, and cohosted the radio program Tuezdae's with D'Militant (2013). He is a published author of five books. His first book, Black Comedians on Black Comedy, is part of the curriculum at USC and has been adapted as a full-length documentary entitled Why We Laugh, which made its premier at the Sundance Film Festival in 2009 and was broadcast on Showtime in 2010. Darryl Littleton is the first African American on the advisory board of the Comedy Hall of Fame. In short, Darryl Littleton, pka D'Militant, knows comedy!
