It has been almost two weeks since Trina Baker along with three of her bonded men escaped out of the reach of McCall, the dangerous and powerful magical practitioner who will leave no stone unturned in his hunt for her. Like her, he is a Beckoner, wielding one of the rarest magical talents: The Beckon. Unlike other practitioners, the Beckoner has no abilities of their own but gain access to the abilities and powers of those they bond with. The Beckon itself draws compatible mates toward the Beckoner and vise verse. As Trina has already discovered, the Beckon will also push her to protect her mates and the bond with deadly force. 
McCall, with his dozens of living wives and concubines, wields powers few others could comprehend and keeps them by ruthlessly hunting down any other Beckoners before they can become a threat to him. In contrast, Trina has only bonded with four men: David, a college student and practitioner who shared his ability to control plants with her; Ray, the Native American personification of the Raven spirit who shared his bird form with Trina though she has yet to master it; Victor, a werewolf formerly in the employ of McCall before he answered Trina’s beckon; and Chahl a Cyborg living in the Forgotten City who’s magical talents lie in manipulating electronics. Trina knows she will never be free from McCall’s hunters and plans to take him down, but will her growing powers be enough to take down someone with McCall’s powers?

For now, that question will have to wait. Lost in the Forgotten City, far from Chahl’s tower, Trina along with David, Ray, and Victor are struggling just to survive. They have barely scavenged enough food to survive and while they have yet to run into some of the less savory residents, their luck is sure to change. The Coven in Exile continues Trina and her men’s adventures as they try to navigate the Forgotten City in search of Chahl’s tower and a portal home.

Along the way, Trina will meet new allies and maybe even a new member or two for her growing coven while with making new enemies as well. Along this journey, she must also navigate her relationship with her men, though when she is not forced to keep the peace between them, she quite enjoys this part. She will have to learn to command the powers she already has and deal with unexpected consequences that come with the Beckon and her growing power. The Forgotten City is an unforgiving place full of both overt and hidden dangers along with portals to an almost infinite number of other realities each with their own dangers as well. Caza Fantasía
