Great addition

I thoroughly enjoyed this story about Dom, Michael Waverly, a sadist and the woman he has never forgotten, Ellie Sanders, a masochist. The narrator did a good job but I did feel that the male character voices were not as strong as the female ones.

This book packed an awful lot into it. I really liked Michael and Ellie, both as individuals and as a couple. I felt their connection and the chemistry between the two of them is scorchingly hot. However Stripping the Submissive is so much more than just a steamy book, it has a great depth to it. Ellie’s journey as she struggles to come to terms with her past was at times heart breaking.

It was great to see how Michael handled Ellie’s doubts and insecurities as she wrestled with the past and how it had impacted her life and relationships around her.
Will Michael be able to break down the barriers that Ellie has erected and in turn, help her to overcome her past and to take a chance on a future together? As a Dom, Michael knows that the key to any relationship, particularly a BDSM one is communication and trust, but will Ellie have the strength to share with Michael the truth of her past or will her secret remain between them and in doing so destroy the trust that has built between them?

This has fast become one of my favourite series, although I have only listened to a couple of them, I had no trouble following book 6 and hopefully I get a chance to listen to or read the other books in the series.

What's your story?

Golden Angel does an amazing job talking about a difficult topic. A topic that many women and men are ashamed to talk about. I love how in this book Golden not only has stories being shared but takes the time for the characters to explain their experiences.

I think that Elli and Michael are an interesting and sweet match. My one struggle was that there was a lot of internal dialogue that the characters and I would have liked a little more interactive dialogue. That is purely just my preference and in no way changes how interesting and entertaining this book is. I love how there is this level of uncertainty and suspense throughout the entire book!

Well written

This book really makes you think about a lot of issues that people have to go through in their daily lives. I love that Golden isn’t afraid to speak up about these. Great characters, amazing storyline and brilliant chemistry. Fantastic performance from Rosie.

So much more than sex

Golden Angel has achieved something spectacular in this series: balance. All of the characters in the world of Stronghold possess richly developed personalities and arcs without stealing the spotlight from the main storyline. There is so much more in this book than hot BDSM play; it's emotional, empowering, educational, not to mention laugh out loud funny! Yes, the love scenes are intensely erotic, but the story doesn't rely on them to keep the reader's interest. It's all about the characters and how they interact. Really looking forward to reading the next one the series.

Great story!

Loving this Stronghold Doms Series. Golden Angel never ceases to amaze me. She pulls you into her world of wonderful characters who are like family. It’s easy to relate to them and feel what they feel. Michael and Ellie have a strong connection but something in her past is keeping her from him. With him being a sadist and her a masochist makes it easy for them to get together at the club. Michael wants more and won’t give up until he has all of her. Will Ellie fight him? Or fight for him? A definite must read.

Rosie did a wonderful job on the narration and bringing the characters to life. I was given this free copy audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.

Ellie💘Michael! More Stronghold Doms Greatness!

I love this Stronghold Doms series, Golden Angel created a wonderful world with terrific characters who belong to the same BDSM club, they are a tight knit circle of friends who took out for each. Each book in this series features a newly developing couple. While each book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone it is really great to know more about the other characters form earlier books. ‘Stripping the Sub’ is Ellie and Michael’s story. Micheal, a Dom and sadist, is a new comer to Stronghold brought in by his friend Angel. He recognizes Ellie at the club whom he knew from High School and is interested in her but something in Ellie’s past leaves her broken, not trusting and unable to have a relationship. She is a sub and a masochist who enjoys the structure and safety of the club. Michael does not give up on her, wants to penetrate the walls she built up around herself. I loved his patience with her, also loved that the group of girls, subs and Olivia, stepped up and gave her their support. Michael and Ellie are perfect for each other, his Dom to her sub, his sadism to her masochism. Their story is not an easy one, lots of drama, angst & emotions but there sure is great chemistry between them and their scenes were smoking. Gold Angel, thank you for another great story, I am looking forward to the next book in the series, also want to see how the new club turns out and what stories it will bring.

I listened to the Audible edition, Rosie does a great job narrating and bringing the characters to life. She is a wonderful voice performer and an entertaining storyteller. That you for this great listen🎧

Another awesome book!

Ellie has been someone I’ve wanted to read more about since I started these books. I knew something had happened to her, but wanted to know more. Her story is heartbreaking! However, I’m not sharing why here, other than to say the scene where she shared what happened with her friends from Stronghold, was a balm for me. The support and belief from them... loved that!

Michael knew Ellie in high school. He’s been interested since he first saw her at Stronghold... but she has avoided him. He doesn’t know why, and when they finally get to speak and share... she pushes him away.

Golden Angel tells these stories so exceptionally well.. I’m listening straight through!!!

I love Rosie’s voice! She’s been my favorite on these so far.

Zoo, Zoo, Zoo

I think I peed a little laughing so hard at Sharon and the Zoo scene. But more over. I loved how this book tackled the hard subject of rape and its after effects. The PTSD and anxiety is real, but with professional help and good friends you can get through it.

A must read!

A tramatic experience with a man in a past relationship has prevented Ellie from developing lasting relationships. In fact she has trouble confiding in anyone because she fears once they know her secret they will abandon her. But when she becomes involved with the Stronghold group of friends, she finds a loyal group that will do anything they can to support and love each other. Ellie is attracted to Michael but a long term relationship seems impossible. Can Michael 's love and patience win her over? Another soul searching book in the Stronghold series.

Rosie does an excellent job of bringing this story to life. I received this Audible book in exchange for an honest review. I highly recommend this book and this series. I have already read the all of the ebooks in this series, and it is one of my favorite series. I totally enjoyed this Audible book and the wonderful bond of friendship these characters have.
