Mel and Penny have lived across the road from Rosie for around five years or so. They always said a polite “Hello,” when they passed each other in the street, or waved as they put their bins out at the same time but had never got into a conversation.
When Penny walked out on Mel leaving her with time on her hands, she started to notice people living in the street a little more. It came to her attention that over the last five years or so since Rosie had lived there that Mel had never noticed any family, or friends, visiting her home.
Mel guessed that Rosie was around early to mid-twenties, she had also noticed she went out early in the morning, so she guessed she was going to work before returning early evening to spend the rest of the evening on her own.
Most weekends, along with holidays like Christmas, and Easter her car was missing but when she spent the odd weekend at home she was also alone, and Mel was starting to feel a little sorry for her.
It was by chance that Mel going for a train to meet a friend, and Rosie was on the station platform, and they get into a conversation.
Mel invites Rosie over for a drink the following evening to find out more about her. What Rosie admits is a shock for Mel but the start of an unlikely friendship.
Within weeks Rosie’s life has changed along with Mel’s and Mel’s close friend Jude as never did they imagine they would find themselves spending a weekend in the country with Rosie.
Mel life also takes an unexpected turn when Penny returns and wants to get back into her life again. But Mel has a close friendship with Paige and things that Paige had said to her are now starting to make sense?
Mel has learnt so much from Paige, as has Rosie from Mel and Jude, all have had their eyes opened in one way or another...
