This gets four stars on the categories of “overall” and “story”. The writing was well done except that it is very graphic and includes brutal details of rough sex which could be considered extremely triggering for many people. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone because it is so graphic. However, there’s many who who will enjoy it, especially if available as a free book.

As is too often with this author, the story starts out with a promising idea. It becomes a bit interesting, then we get to where things start getting heated and everything slowly deteriorates.
First, we get to the part where everything devolves into two and three word sentences that are repeated over and over. This happens over the entirety of the rest of the story, as well as other things that are ridiculously over repeated.
Then, we get to some ridiculousness - as in she gets twice bound where she's up off the ground with her legs bound up and all her weight is on her also bound hands and shoulders. Just after the first two days of her being in their camp, her hands would be swollen, purple masses that would have no functionality. After that much time with her weight on them, her shoulders would be so stiff and sore that using her arms would also be excruciating and would take some serious effort to even lift an arm above the elbow. She also doesn't have 'rope scars' after a couple days. She has 'rope burns'. Scars don't weep or bleed. Rope burn is where it's essentially torn the top few layers of skin off and leaving only raw flesh that would scab and ooze as well as bleed. Her feet would also useless. If she could even feel them, they would be so painful to put pressure on, she'd likely pass out from the agony. This isn't even addressing the severe injuries caused by the sexual brutality. Just being touched... hell, just being awake would be extremely unpleasant.
There's also some other ridiculousness, like him getting upset about her running and he just 'bared his heart', even though he never bared anything. He made a statement or two, but didn't reveal anything that he would reasonably be hurt about.
All in all, it just makes the story rather... meh.

The repeating was a bit much. The story started out good but by the end there was a lot of line repeating like in poetry and theatre.

This book was only 4 hours or so, first hour I thought ok it will get better soon! Unfortunately the last hour was just for me personally was CRINGEY! It was like listening some weird poetry and none of it was appealing. To be honest this is the first book in all my 30+ years of being a serious book fanatic that I have such a shit opinion. Maybe this book is amazing to readers/listeners, I'm just disappointed 😞

I hate being this person, but half of this is just the same handful of phrases over and over and over. I don’t mean she uses the same word a few times and it’s irritating, I mean it’s like she copy pasted whole sentences 15 times and never realized it. Did she have a minimum word count and got super lazy about reaching it? She really needs an editor or even just reread what she’s written.

I did not like the way in which the story was told... a form of poetry??? with phrasing repeated over and over... very disappointing... I'm a sucker for a good picture and the cover art is very good which is what got my attention...
