Ivan's Story - A Great Beginning To A Great Series

What did you love best about Ivan's Captive Submissive?

The author and narrator do a great job in bringing this story to life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I would say Gia was my favorite character. She was brave enough to be part of an auction where she had to give up control to an unknown Master who just wanted to bring her fantasies to life.

Which character – as performed by Edo De Angelis – was your favorite?

Definitely Ivan. He has the perfect voice for this author's books. The reader will have no trouble picturing the Russian characters as he tells the story. Edo has the sexy voice down pat - no doubt about it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

E.L. James has nothing on Anne Mayburn.

Any additional comments?

This is a book that I look forward to listening to again and again. The only thing that the narrator had me wonder was "how hard was it to read all those sexy scenes". There were times that I got so lost in the story that I almost forgot where I was going and what I was doing. Looking forward to getting the next book in the series so that I can listen to the series from beginning to end.

Who wants a hot Russian Dom?

Gia is an architect who works hard and has very little social life. She has trained as a submissive and plays at her local club, but has never found the Dom who can get her into subspace and pleasure her the way she desires. She enters a Submissive's Wish Charity Auction, where the subs are bought by Doms who intend to fulfill the fantasies of the subs, and the money they spend purchasing the subs for a week goes to a charity of the submissive's choice. Gia is bought by Ivan, a Russian Dom who soon realizes that he is not going to be able to let Gia go at the end of their week together.

This book definitely had some interesting elements to the story in addition to the steamy sexy parts. Gia is a character who is easy to like and seeing her find some happiness was really rewarding. Ivan is a little too perfect to be taken seriously sometimes. He's a big commanding Dom who can look and act scary, but is always kind and gentle when it counts. He is a powerful man who has never found a woman to hold his interest beyond a few sexual encounters, until Gia. Gia tries to maintain a reasonable expectation for their relationship since they have grown close in such a very short period of time, but Ivan after a few days is ready to keep Gia with him forever.

I struggled with the narration a little bit at times. On the one hand, the narrator did a fantastic job with Ivan's voice. His Russian accent was deep, incredibly sexy, and perfect. His natural accent is Italian (I think), so I was taken out of the story at times when he would switch from the Italian accent to a slightly American accent for Gia, and then the perfect Russian accent for Ivan. Overall- the narration was good, and parts of the book were definitely enhanced by it.

I would recommend this to anyone who likes a "fluffy" D/s story.

Let's start with the narrator-whew his accent is sexy!! I did have to listen a little more closely at first to understand him at times, but I quickly got used to it and was fine from that point on. I did notice a few times when I believe he said wrong words-I saw this because the sentence didn't make sense so I'm assuming since I didn't have the book right in front of me while listening. Holy crap this book is freaking hot! Heed the warning above my kittens! This book is full of seriously sexy BDSM scenes and one hell of a head fuck! You know I’m not one for ruining surprises so I won’t say more than that about that subject. Ivan is all about pushing Gia’s limits. He takes her to places she’s never even imagined were possible and in turn she gives him everything she has. Ivan rides the line between insanely sexy and dangerous. There are some pretty strong scenes in this one so make sure you are prepared to read some heavy stuff along with the lighter side of things. There is even some knife play which always peeks my interest. It’s not all BDSM though. There is plenty of romance happening too. This book will give you a little bit of action, plenty of passion, and a love story as well. Another amazing read by Ann Mayburn, I can’t wait to see what she brings next!

OMG! There are not words HOT enough!

Loved is too mild for how I felt about this book. The narrator brought the Hot Russian Dom Ivan to life in my mind and ears. Talk about panty soaking words reading the kindle book was so not as sizzling as this
One of the hottest scenes is in the gym! Still panting thinking about it.
I totally loved this book narrated by Edo De Angelis
I can't wait for him to do Dimitri! Ann very nice choice of narrator *sigh*

Love Ann Mayburn!

She is an amazing author. Probably my all time favorite erotica author. Her knowledge and descriptives involving BDSM and play are stellar. The auction is spectacular, but even better is the week long slave play. She's fabulous.

Ivan and Gia are the perfect sub/Dom relationship. Gia is sweet, spicy, bratty, yet strong and independent. I love their dynamic.

I've read this series before and listening to it gives it an entirely different vibe.

The story was a lovely fantasy come true and I loved the characters. While I loved the narrators accent, sometimes he was just too flat for the moment. It was the credit and I will definitely buy more of these

His Russian accent is fun. He did a good job. I enjoyed the story more because the accent was yummy.

What a great book. I listened to it on audio.

What a great book. I loved that Gia was a very strong independent person and Ivan excepted her . They were both wonderful characters with so much to offer each other. I love when a book has a strong female character. The relationship between them was explosive. The book kept my interest from beginning to end. I will definitely be getting more Ann Mayburn books. I listened to it on audio and the person who did the narration did a great job. He voice was wonderful for this book.
