When disgraced paranormal investigator Melody Barnum learns about a series of seemingly unrelated incidents where entire families have been injured and killed after undergoing dramatic changes in personality and behavior, she suspects them to be the handiwork of a paranormal entity bent on causing mayhem and destruction across the country.
