A sequel to Sins of the Past, Xralix the dread dragon and Jalru the gold dragon are living life to the fullest after the events at the Frostward Vale, luring in unsuspecting greedy adventurers so that the destructive dragon and satiate his destructive needs. When a Dragon Knight appears at his doorstep instead Xralix is surprised to find that his former Order, or rather the Order he belonged to when he was an amnesiac elf named Ryonir, wanted him to resume his former mantle in order to derail a nefarious plot by another dread dragon to take over a kingdom and possibly more. From the limited information they had the dread dragon had an artifact that was enslaving the minds of those that it was around, which meant that the Dragon Knights would be facing an army if they attacked and didn't have more information. They also knew that the dread dragon was trying to recruit others of his own kind, but was ironically being stopped by the Order of the Kingdom that protected its borders.

Thus a plan was hatched for Xralix to become the Dragon Knight to get past the Order, then get close to the dread dragon before revealing his true form to potentially bypass the enthralled citizens to dispatch the dragon for good. There was just one problem though... Xralix didn't want to do it. Once more dragon and elf clash with one another for the fate of the kingdom and potentially the world as the threat of a dread dragon once more rises that this time wasn't him.
