Sultry, sexy, and mind-bendingly erotic, what Frazier does to Johnson Woodstock’s Shocking Surprise By My Roommate is hot AF!

The second novel in Johnson Woodstrong’s First Time Gay series, Shocking Surprise By My Roommate is the story of James’ first MM experience. (I didn’t read the first book in the series, but trust me, you don’t need to.)

Woodstrong sets up a nice little story, and while some of the terms Woodstrong uses aren’t the ones I prefer, Jason Frazier elevates this novel with his incredibly erotic performance. Building the tension right from the start, and infusing so much emotion into each character’s experiences, his performance in this one is truly spectacular. At only 34 minutes long, Shocking Surprise By My Roommate is well worth a listen.

Story reminded me of phone sex. Just a sex scene, with a (for me) predictable ending. Not a bad story at all, just not unique like I was hoping for. (And I never want to hear the word helmet again. Way overused.)

Narrator Jason Frazier is VERY breathy, which I don't care for, but I do love the tone of his voice. I almost always listen at normal speed, but I had to bump it all the way to 1.5 to make it a comfortable speed.

What stands out for me was despite the title James didn't read like this was a first time experience for him. The way Mark treated him and his acceptance made him seems more experienced. That said, this 34 minute listen is pure sex, so if you're looking for some character development or story building you will be disappointed. This was straight smut which I was ok with. I usually love Jason Frazier's voice but he was too breathy in this and it was very distracting
