Jessica is one of the baddest chicks to ever walk the streets of Brooklyn. Thick in all the right places, she has a figure that drives both men and women crazy. She’s always fresh to death, sporting the latest fashions by well-known designers every time she stepped outside. She’s street smart, well versed on how the boys played on the block. And her older brother’s notorious reputation made her bullet-proof from harm in the neighborhood. Jessica’s the full package, every man’s dream girl.

Lil Pop is far from the typical Brooklyn thug. His murderous reputation in the streets earned him the nickname The Boogie Man of Brownsville. People feared his wrath, and usually vacated the scene whenever he popped up. The top shooter for Tank’s drug organization, he did every and anything possible for the Brooklyn crime boss, whom has been his idol since he was a youth. Lil Pop is one of the main reasons why no one messed with Tank in Brooklyn.

During a chance encounter with Lil Pop, Jessica witnesses the thug lay his gun game down and instantly fell in love with the bad boy’s style. After that incident, she couldn’t get Lil Pop off her mind, she was determined to get to know the Brooklyn gangster. Eventually she did get the opportunity to connect with Lil Pop, and her life changed. Forever…

This book should have been titled Psycho Thug. The plot was practically non-existent — it jumped from one chaotic scene to another with no real direction or purpose. There was zero character development; every person felt one-dimensional and forgettable. There wasn’t a single character to root for or even understand. The story relied on nothing but senseless violence, and by the end, it left me wondering what the point was. Lil Pop might have been intended as the central figure, but there was no depth or growth to make him compelling. Overall, a disappointing and frustrating read.
