this was an interesting listen. I felt uncomfortable and intrigued. it was steamy and a little shocking but I didn't hate it. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher.

This is the 2nd Tymber Dalton I've enjoyed where the story starts AFTER the "Happily Ever After".

The interesting thing about this Domme by Default is the emphasis on communication; the couple's journey as they learn to strengthen their bond after having been married for more than a decade.

Relationship changes is realistic. You just don't see it done much (or done well) often enough. The fact that such a fascinating trait emerges in the hero... well, it makes the story FASCINATING.

I liked that it wasn't all hot encounters (though those are my favorite to read/listen to, no doubt) - I liked that Dalton layered this with the difficult parts about life, about two people trying to take care of each other, respect each other. I really loved it when the turn happens and you see how good the Hero is.

Fans of this one HAVE to try Dalton's The Reluctant Dom. You must. Warning though: have tissues handy.

I wasn't sure I was going to like the Female being the Dom, but I loved it. I think Tilly Cardinal from Cardinal's Rule broke me in first… I read it like so long ago now, and love it. But she always stuck with me.

So with this book I was prepared for something.. I just didn't know what. And wow so loved it. I know some think a Female Dom who has a male slave or sub they see the male as weak but I don’t, I never have actually I see them as strong and able to see something in themselves they had the courage to ask for. It can’t be easy to always feel like you have to be in charge because of your gender.

I really like that we have, a him, and her, we don’t get names but Tony from The Reluctant Dom... I hope he gets his own book I haven’t checked haha I will. Lmao ok his book is next… I need to check these things before I type…

Anyways a great story of learning what your partner needs but also what you need. I love the connection and love these two had for each other. Their willingness to try and trust in each other. Also for her to reach out and ask for help when she needed it was pretty great too.

Also this was a first for this narrator for me but I really enjoyed her. I hope she does more of these books.

I received this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review. It was actually enlightening since it was done from the prospective of a married couple trying to keep a spark going when their marriage is NOT falling apart. The only thing I found a little off putting was the back and forth with the two characters thoughts just referred to as his and hers instead of their names? Interesting little short to be sure.

Ok so I gave this book 3 stars for the story line and narration. I love the writing style by this author so it wasn't that at all. I just don't really enjoy female domme stories, I don't know why but I just can't really wrap my head around them and I also am not a fan of short stories because I don't have enough time to like the characters. I couldn't get into their story because of those reason and that is just a personal preference. I am absolutely going to continue making my way through the audiobooks that are out in this series because I have loved all of the ones I have listened to so far.

I don't love this narrator either, She is ok but just not one I enjoy listening too.

The narrator makes this story what it is. She has this sweet, sexy, husky voice that grasps the listener. It's a very vanilla style BDSM story. You take a vanilla couple interested in a little kink and throw them into a D/s relationship. I like that she is the Domme and he's the sub, but also that he gives her a break now and then with a bit of dominance. It works for them. Great story!

For a short read I was thoroughly impressed with the progression from the characters from page one til the end. The heroine and hero were a series couple so that was different.

They way they compromised for each other to unleash their inner most deepest fantasies was a nice twist. Also I loved that they attended munches and weren’t the typical Domme and submissive man that was only into sadism. The stereotype is that female dominants are cruel is just untrue.

I read this is audio so it definitely added to my reading experience! Hope she puts more of her titles in audio!
