What would have made Dominated by the Alpha better?

New reader. Don't need to pause so much between words. Plus what is up with the breathy words!!! If main character is a man then have a man read the book not a women. Alpha to mean is a man with firm and deep voice!!

Could not get even to chapter two, reader is awful
