Resumen del Editor

Desire roused the demon within him....

Wanting to live freely as a human, half-incubus, Tristan flees the Wardens. Broke and starving, he accepts Cory's offer of a paid photo shoot, never dreaming he'd find a man with whom he could be aroused and erotic in his own body without having to submit to his demonic half.

Psychically sensitive Cory didn't meet Tristan by accident; he volunteered to find the beautiful, exotic man for his patron. Cory had never before been able to touch a man without discomfort and soon can't stop, but the hotter the sex gets, the more he can sense the darkness Tristan is trying desperately to escape.

Cory will do anything to keep Tristan safe, even if it means going against both his patron and the Wardens. Cory must learn how to soothe the demon—and to love the man within.

A bit uneven

This book left me feeling a bit out of sorts actually. I thought the first part of the book was really good. The various twists and turns in the relationship between Cory and Tristan really drew me in and the possibility of what Blanco was up to was an interesting hook as it made me wonder where the story was going.

However, after the showdown at Cory's art showing I felt it lost something in the writing. It was almost like the author had spent all the time building up to the showdown that they weren't sure how to finish the book, leading the writing to become sluggish and sort of all over the place after that climax. Almost like the story peaked too early and lost the dramatic punch 2/3rds of the way through.

Even so, I did enjoy the beginning of the book and the ending, while it left a bit to be desired, held together enough that I could get through it. However, with the way the book finished I'm not sure I'd give the author another chance.

So surprising.

I almost passed this by because of the reviews, but I’m so glad I took a chance. I’m actually surprised at the poor reviews. I’m a chronic DNF-er and I have to be really blown away to stick with a book from start to finish and I had no issues with this one. The storyline was compelling (although it’s my first book containing an incubus) and the whole package was done well, narration included. I ended up finishing it in two listening sessions. If you like paranormal m/m romance, you won’t be disappointed in this.

suck-u-bus wait succebus um sucubus-spellchecker?

Where does Demon's Dance rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

After reading the reviews i didn't know if i wanted to get this book. I'm glad I did. Tristin and corey's story was good, enthralling even. The creepy older guy was weird but i understand why he was there. I'd listen to this story again.

What other book might you compare Demon's Dance to and why?

Horns Gate

Which character – as performed by Max Tatch – was your favorite?

Coreys (smooth and sexy) Tristin ( submissive) creepy older guy (great accent)

If you could take any character from Demon's Dance out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Corey, i could be friends with him

Any additional comments?

I probably have said it before but max thatch has an amazing voice, i think i might be a little in love with it.

disappointing... and kinda not sexy

I **really** wanted to like this book, cuz I find sexy demons... well, um... sexy. But both the world building and character development are weak. Characters' actions often contradict what we learned about them not a few sentences earlier. This makes the whole thing come off a little like porn; flimsy characters with poor dialogue in contrived circumstances that easily and quickly lead to sex. None of it felt **earned** and thus had no stakes.
The pacing is strangely fast, almost like the author was working against a page limit or word limit. It left us unable to believe the characters or their motivations.
Max Tatch's performance is hit or miss. I enjoyed his accent for Blanco and his natural speaking voice for Cory and general narration, but his effeminate and diminutive voice for Tristan was fairly uninspired. His creepy Lawrence was also pretty good, so actually that's three-out-of-four, so maybe I'm being too hard on him. He mostly comes off like a "good actor" reading "bad dialogue."
All-in-all I was pretty disappointed in Demon's Dance. Still looking for a good M/M Demon or Cambion story that floats my boat. It wasn't this one.

DEMON'S DANCE

Unbelievably bad. I kept hoping for a redeeming factor; however, it never came. Though rating required I fill in a minimum of one star, I am more inclined to give it none.
