... at this length, though ... so very, very, very repetitive. Very. Very, very. Like this review, but much much more insistent upon itself.

Update: I fought through the rest of the -- forgive the honesty -- dreck. This could and should have been a tidy short story, maybe stretching towards a Gadsbian word count. But no more. The repetitiveness grew almost complete; no fresh thought, or phrase, or ... anything except tiny and irrelevant calendar points appeared pretty much anywhere in the second half. Often the same clause or sentence recurred verbatim with only a sentence betwixt. If this sort of willful abuse of the mother tongue were criminal, the author would spend her declining days in the hoosgow. As it is, I think I may have a tort claim for punitive damages.

Indeed, this performance was too appalling to have sprung direct from human pen or pixel. I'd put down a month's wage that this collection of words was assembled, as it was read, by AI. Early, terrible, AI that must be hunted down and turned off -- just as quickly as human ingenuity may permit. Crime against humanity.
