Great audiobook boxset

This is a huge collection featuring the fifteen stories surrounding Black Water Ranch. They are good stories with strong characters. Each story features a different couple finding love or reconnecting. The one that really stands out to me is "A Reckoning of the Heart". This story is not about finding love but weathering the ride. It is about facing family, the past and moving forward. The story is about Grant and Hannah. I enjoyed their journey and the mystery. This is different and that is what I enjoyed the most about it. I like how the story unfolds.

It's nice to see how each one returns to their roots after being away on their own journeys. It is great to be abe to listen to the stories. So sit back or work out and listen to the story come alive.

Great stories

The Barton family members come from a long history rooted in their Texas lineage. At times the blessings from the money and power are the very same curses of trying to live up to the expectations imposed on them.

George as the patriarch impacts all the following generations including his offspring and nieces and nephews and the next generation of the grands(kids and nieces & nephews).

Each book while focusing usually on a single couple is rounded out by a whole series of relations. Each while having many of the similar struggles that other family members do trying to establish their place within the family, also struggle to overcome with unique situations. The Barton family series tied up with an interesting end. I did enjoy time spent with each of the couples.

Most of the storylines/books are well developed and recently edited, but there are a couple of rough books to listen to simply because Virtual Voice can't fix poorly written text.

Yes, I listened to the entire 90+ hours this set contains. No, it wasn't entirely from start to finish. I found I had to take a break from listening to this genre and listen to something completely different for a book here and there to break thing one up.

One thing this author chose to do that was positive was to switch up the various voices being used not only differing between the male and female POV but also with in the genders changing up the voices being used. It made for a better listening experience, in my opinion. There were times though that the voices didn't quite make the mark for the age of the characters.

This is my first time reviewing an Audible version of Elizabeth Grey's work. I have mixed feeling about the Virtual Voice narration, especially when words are mispronounced or it is evident the text needed better editing. I'm not running out to buy more of her work because I just can't get enough, but on the other hand I'm not putting it in the category of never again would I want to read or listen to her work. Nor am I ambivalent about her work. I'm definitely leaning more to definitely I would listen to if the chance presented it self.

I really enjoyed Blackwater Ranch by Elizabeth Grey, especially how the fifteen interconnected stories build a larger picture of family legacy, second chances, and modern ranch life in present-day Texas. Following the Barton family across the series made the emotional payoff stronger with each book, and I liked seeing familiar faces return as relationships and past choices quietly shaped later stories. The narration by Virtual Voice was passable but left me wanting more, and the collection itself is a satisfying way to experience the full saga from beginning to end.
