So after reading other reviews, I listened a second time to see what I was missing. I still think there are some odd things going on, but I feel like I may have been a bit harsh the first time. The reason I did not delete my first review is because I still think these are annoying things. However, that being said, there are a lot more redeeming qualities to this book than I first thought and I enjoyed it more the second time!!
Well, the narrators did an excellent job. But that’s the best I can say. I really wanted to like this book, I love rh, I really do. But the story just has some oddities that I can’t overlook. (*Spoiler* a drugged blow dart during a meeting that mistakenly hits Bear -instead of the mayor- bc things aren’t going the way the ladies want!) The FMC is just a ridiculous b!tch for waaaay too much of the story for a ridiculous reason. I just couldn’t. I did finish the story. The writing itself was decent. The steamy bits were lukewarm at best. But overall it was just really a bummer for me.
