Wow, this emotional, and engaging story held me captive right from the start. Gabe lost the love of his life on a mission and knew he would never love again. That is until he unexpectedly ran into an angel who would steal his heart at first glance. Autumn doesn't know how her life went so wrong. One moment she has the perfect, attentive fiance, and then when they're married, it goes all wrong. From the outside her life looks perfect, but Gabe sees her pain that no one else does. Even tho their meeting was brief, Autumn can't get Gabe's green eyes out of her head. She is not the timid, pushover her husband thinks she is. But Gabe gives her the strength to imagine a better life. But those thoughts are dangerous and could get them both killed. This unique and exhilarating story was fast paced and the plot twists kept me totally engaged. Narrators Kylie Stewart, and Eric Rolon did a good job pulling me in and making me feel like I was part of this world. They embodied both Autumn and Gabe, bringing out both their strengths and vulnerabilities. I really enjoyed this poignant, witty, and steamy romance and can't wait to listen to the next book in the Saddles & Racks series.

I couldn’t put this book down.
This is book 1 in this series and I can’t wait to read/listen to the next book in this series.
The characters are amazing and the narration was absolutely perfect!!
I would recommend this book/series!!

What an amazing story. It had me on the edge of my seat. May contain triggers for some. Some of Gabe's lines sounded a bit to "read" but otherwise amazing job from narrators.

This is the first book I've read/listened to by this author and damn if the first chapter didn't rip my heart right out. Ms. Knight pulled me into the story of Gabe and his struggle with losing the love of his life while serving his country. To say the man did not handle it well would be an understatement. Swearing off love, he finds solace in a bottle of whiskey and turns to being an escort for release. Good thing he has his best friend, Paul, to keep him in line. Until he meets Autumn. Then all hell breaks loose. Consumed by the mild-mannered woman he falls head over heels.
Autumn by outward appearances lives a charmed life, but she hides a darkness that she lives with constantly. When her husband decides to run for mayor, the news is not good for Autumn, she knows her life will become much more difficult. Gabe wants to be her knight in shining armor, especially when he finds out who her husband really is. Autumn and Gabe might just be able to save each other if things work out, otherwise the outcome could be disastrous.
Ms. Knight weaves heartbreak, fear, and coincidence into a tight story of passion, triumph, and love. The audiobook is the first true duet narration I have listened to and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing both narrators interacting as the characters. Gabe's narrator has a sexy, gruff timbre to his voice, and Kylie Stewart is excellent as the various personas Autumn has to keep herself safe. In the end Ms. Knight pieced back together the heart she shattered in the first chapter and provided an satisfying HEA for this reader.

Angels and Whisky was amazing emotional second chance story. 

It's about learning to trust again, to do things right and to believe in love. 

The past left wounds which had to heal. 


Gabe is former soldier and has got deep scars left from war and osing his first love.

Autumn is kind, lovely person but mentally and physically abused by her husband. 

She's got enough and is plotting a plan. When Gabe and she first meet, she is smitten with "Mr. Green eyes." He also can't watch away. They quickly become friends and Gabe promises to help her. To his surprise Autumn's husband is Gabe's former major who noone didn't like. 


The story is nicely developing with lots of twists and turns but in the end love and justice win. 


I loved every word and also the narration was fabulously done.
