Allison is a woman more content with finding fulfillment from her work than from a man, and Jacob is a busy corporate billionaire with no time for love. When fate puts them on the same flight to Scotland, the pull to one another forces them together, and their passion ignites. I instantly felt the connection between Allison and Jacob during their flight, they were hot! Neither wants to be away from the other, and both are completely absorbed while also wondering how they can be experiencing this intensity. Jacob's responsibilities are such that they need to separate so he can take care of them and so Allison can visit with her friends before they reconnect in 10 days.

Tom, Jacob's assistant/best friend, notices changes in Jacob, and they both worry that his symptoms are becoming alarming. Figuring he may have a clue as to what is going on, Jacob contacts his Uncle to discuss the "family history." Tom, Jacob and his uncle frantically try to find some reference as to what is going on with Jacob. Meanwhile, Allison has fallen into a coma. What are the odds that both Jacob and Allison would be going through some insanely weird stuff at the same time?? To make things worse, another man comes into play when Allison is hospitalized. He feels drawn to her, wants to be near her, touch her, smell her and snuggle with her.........weird right? He doesn't understand the pull to her, considering he doesn't know anything about her and the fact that she is in a coma! But he lovingly cares for her while she is in the hospital and wants to care for her always.

(MINOR SPOILER, BUT NOT REALLY IF YOU LOOK AT THE COVER): This book is about two wolf shifters who have no idea they are wolf shifters. Their meeting awakens their dormant shifter DNA and stirs the transformation within them. The story of how they became dormant was pretty interesting. The whole world building for the lycanthropes started with a strong foundation which lead me to believe the current state of the transformation that Jacob was going through. So now we have a race to find out what is happening to our H&h, a race to reunite with Allison, and a pre-destined claim to stake for his woman, as alpha, and world domination!! Wahahahahahaha!!! OK, the world domination was not true, I just got caught up in the moment! (END OF MINOR SPOILER)

Awesome story. Can't wait for the next installments!

Narrator Review: The audiobook is 3 Hours and 29 minutes of virtual bliss.....sigh Joshua Story does an OUTSTANDING job with his narration skills. He speaks in an English accent, then switches to a panty-dropping Scottish accent when speaking as Jacob, and OMG! The deep but smooth Scottish tone is just mouth watering. I had to try really hard to stay focused on the story at hand while listening, because you could easily doze off into a daydream of lying in Jacob's arms while he is combing your hair with his fingers and reading the phone book to you with that oh so sexy voice, whet! Joshua's female voices were nicely done with the lighter tone, but not with a high pitched effort, that was just enough to notice the difference with who was speaking. (OK--I was totally tickled while he spoke as Jacob's uncle because that character reminded me of Fat Bastard from the Austin Powers movie! I don't know why, ok...........apparently I have a weird sense of humor and association! This wasn't a bad thing by any means, it was just a funny haha kinda thing that ran through my head while listening.)

Joshua performs American English, UK English, Scottish, in both male and female voices effortlessly! Joshua is a true delight to listen to and enhanced my listening pleasure by 10! I happily give Josh a 5 Fang rating!!

When I started as a writer, my goal was to write audio books. I personally rarely read, but my listener profile is chalk full of books by Kresley Cole, LKH, Diana Gabaldon, Stephanie Meyers, Jeaniene Frost, Jim Butcher, J.R. Ward, Kevin Hearne -- and the list goes on. I never read any of these authors, but I listened like a fool, and in the process I learned not only how to tell a great, fictional, fantasy story, but I also garnered an incredible appreciation for these awesome narrators.

I fell in love with the many and talented voices of: Khristine Hvam, Robert Petkoff, Tavia Gilbert, Kate Reading, Xe Sands and Luke Daniels etc.

I love paranormal romance because I kind of detest formula, "Normal," romance. I crave different and unique, but at the same time I ache for passion and the joining with a soul mate.

So, I write just that, and this title, Alpha Awakened, is my very first foray into this genre. I wrote it almost three years ago, and I've revised it more than 4 times in the time span in-between. I found the talented and unknown Joshua Story shorty after listing my Dormant Desires series on ACX. Because he is as of yet the aforementioned--unknown--I could afford him. Together we learned together what it takes to produce an audio book(s). Its been a steep learning curve, but doing it with him was a wonderful experience!

I'm confident he won't remain unknown much longer. He is an uber talented guy and was able to execute everything I asked and hoped for from our joint freshman endeavor.

This story, Alpha Awakened, is just the beginning of a very fun journey of mated love and I couldn't be more excited about my first audio book going live in the year 2015. Look for more from me and Joshua. I have a lot of already written works that just need to make it to this audio platform. Alpha Awakened is a brilliantly written story and perfectly narrated. The narrator and his accents had my full attention. Listening to Jacob and Allison's story, Had me feeling like I was transported into the story and was allowed to watch it all take place. The way they met and where automatically drawn to each other, had me believing love at first sight could happen. The hot and sexy scenes had me wishing I met a Scottish man myself. Usually I don't really like corny parts of a story but the way it was written, I was smiling and laughing along with them. If you love paranormal romance, this is a Must for you! I for one can not wait to listen to more.

The story was clearly written for a woman fantasy audience. With that in mind, I endured the first few chapters introducing the main characters. The average, frumpy, middle age female, and the hunky "Alpha" male character depiction, who judging from his physical attributes should be on People Magazine's most desired guy in the world, and hold the Guinness world record for penis girth and length. - eye roll

Okay, moving past that... The story took many interesting, and eyebrow raising, twists and turns. Usually I can figure out the whole plot in the first few chapters, but I kept being surprised. I loved the open, unabashed language and sexuality. Guys like that too!

The narrator's voice is clear with a pleasant accent. At times the flow seemed stammered, but not enough to distract from the story.

I'm new to the paranormal, romance genre, and looking forward getting more of the Dormant Desire Series. Male, female ... you won't be disappointed!
