Story line is captivating! Narrator is awesome, as ALWAYS! Love to have a follow-up including Shelia and Andy.

I read through the mixed reviews on this book and was very undecided on whether to purchase or not, but I'm so glad I did
I was hooked on this book from the 1st chapter and the Author did a fantastic job with a very sensitive subject, I liked all the characters and the book was easy to read and kept me up wanting to find out what happened next.
I would throughly recommend this book I really enjoyed it and the narrator did a fantastic job.

The story was okay, however, there were several times I had to guess what just happened! The thick accent of the narrator was hard to understand many times. I tried backing up and listening again. Mostly that didn’t help. For me, it took away from the story. That’s all the review I can give on this one.

I have never had this experience before.

I read the reviews, and there were a LOT of 5-star comments. But I didn't understand what the book was about.

I THOUGHT the husband would discover a mystery about his wife. I did not understand that - on his way to learning her secret - he would be physically and mentally abused, repeatedly, in secret and then in front of their small children. I did NOT understand that - to get to the end of this book - I would have to watch this normal man reduce in size and confidence and personality. The humiliation was graphic and terribly disturbing, and it never let up. Even now, as I recall the first 2/3 of the book, my stomach has begun to hurt. I imagine that this is how one would feel if one were forced to watch a terrible person beat a defenseless dog for YEARS!

I do not know the ending, and I would like to find out if the husband and children escaped with any semblance of a life. But I cannot listen to one more word.

I almost stopped listening several times. The story repeated itself over and over and really did not make realistic sense. The reader was very very good. Clear at all times. Not his fault the story was so badly written.

I can’t believe I read as many hours of this book as I did. It must have been written by some man who abused women for years. It’s almost some sort of fanfiction porn of a man who was abused by a woman. But no real plot.
