Awards season
is here! The first few months of the year are flooded with reflections on the best of the past 12 months, from movies to books and everything in between. And I am completely on board. Over the next few weeks, I’ll be doing my best to catch up and join the conversations. I’ll spend plenty of time on blogs and Twitter to see what people are talking about. There will be hours of screen time with Netflix and at the movie theater. But most of my awards prep hours will be spent the way I love best—with books! I’ll be reading with my eyes and my ears, remembering my favorites and catching up on anything I missed. Most important—if you’d like to share your favorite YA book of 2018, let me know on Twitter: @aunt_feather, and make sure to tag @audible_com.

Award winners
At the end of the month, the YA branch of the American Library Association will announce their picks for 2018's best books for teens. Children of Blood and Bone topped Audible's list, and there’s a good chance we’ll see it on YALSA's lists, too. A personal favorite, Elizabeth Acevedo’s The Poet X has also earned many accolades (including the National Book Award!) and the buzz is still going strong. What else could be in the running? I’ve got some guesses!

Snowbound favorites
Even on the coldest day of winter, you won’t hear me wish it were summer. In fact, a snowy midnight walk is one of my favorite things, whether I’m in the wilds of Brooklyn or the mountains of Utah! Luckily for me, there are plenty of books where winter is practically a character so I can sit back and imagine a year full of snow days.
