November is

both National Novel Writing Month and a time to give thanks, and this month I’m grateful to NOT be working on a book, though props to you if you are. Writing is hard, guys! I recently made my own piece of content—a free audio essay about true crime called Murder, We Spoke—and while I’m very proud to see it out in the world, I’m even more humbled by how much effort it took to create even a 45-minute listen.

The experience has multiplied my respect for writers (and not just the ones you can hear in the essay, including Attica Locke, Sarah Weinman, Billy Jensen, and more!). On that note, there's so much great work to celebrate this month…along with some writing inspo for those on the NaNoWriMo train. Keep going!! I’m cheering you on from afar.
