Letter from the editor
Even as an adult, my year has only two seasons: School and Summer. In the middle of looking at first-day-of-school photos, buying my own school supplies (a new notebook and fancy pens every year!), and chatting with the kids in my life about their new classes, I always spend some time with my favorite school stories, too. From childhood favorites (I still want to join Ramona Quimby's kindergarten class) to new classics (have you met Mr. Browne in Wonder?), books about school remind me that it's important learn new things, make new friends, and save a seat for the new kid—all life lessons that make us all better people. Here's to another school year and all the friends we'll make—both in real life and with the help of talented authors.-

Historia
National Book Award winner Jacqueline Woodson has created a poignant, yet heartening book about finding courage to connect, even when you feel scared and alone. There are many reasons to feel different. Maybe it's how you look or talk, or where you're from; maybe it's what you eat, or something just as random. It's not easy to take those first steps into a place where nobody really knows you yet, but somehow you do it. Jacqueline Woodson's audiobook reminds us that we all feel like outsiders sometimes - and how brave it is that we go forth anyway.

Heart, humor, and (mis)adventures with Joey Pigza
I've been a Joey Pigza fan for years, but after adopting a dog, I understand the relationship between Joey and his dog Pablo in a whole new way. I tell Trigger embarrassing secrets, I sneak him treats of people food, and I've even cancelled plans because my dog needs me. (Remember when Joey left an amusement park to check on Pablo?) Lucky for listeners, Jack Gantos has brought The Dented Head of Joey Pigza exclusively to Audible. Whether you're meeting Joey for the first time or reuniting with this wired kid, let this celebrated author—who is also a rockstar of a narrator—tell your family a story.
