Letter from the editor

Even as an adult, my year has only two seasons: School and Summer. In the middle of looking at first-day-of-school photos, buying my own school supplies (a new notebook and fancy pens every year!), and chatting with the kids in my life about their new classes, I always spend some time with my favorite school stories, too. From childhood favorites (I still want to join Ramona Quimby's kindergarten class) to new classics (have you met Mr. Browne in Wonder?), books about school remind me that it's important learn new things, make new friends, and save a seat for the new kid—all life lessons that make us all better people. Here's to another school year and all the friends we'll make—both in real life and with the help of talented authors.
