Does anyone else

need a break from best-of-the-year discussions? Everywhere I look—Twitter, my circle of friends, work here at Audible—everyone is breathlessly arguing over which books, listens, movies, and video games were the best of 2019. While I find myself nodding my head in agreement at a lot of the winning picks, there are a few great titles that I want to see get a little more love—so check them out!

As far as 2019 goes, I think it was a banner year for children’s literature. Slowly but surely, it’s becoming more open minded, more representative, and more culturally relevant. Hopefully the trend continues in 2020—but for now, here’re two listens featuring kids in New Orleans (because why not?) and a recommendation for those of you who’ve also caught Star Wars space-fever.
