"There’s something about a fake relationship that’s fun to write and even more enjoyable to experience as a listener. More than anything, I love the sexual tension that’s always prevalent in this trope. The ‘we have to pretend’ dynamic mirrored with the undertone of desire. The listener can feel the hero and heroine fall for each other—each painfully scripted kiss for their audience at a time—despite constantly telling themselves it’s all an act. I enjoy the mix of emotions that come with these stories—the frustration, the realization, the denial and then the swoon-worthy acceptance."
