"I don’t discover or like stories by category. It could be fiction, nonfiction, speculative fiction, literary fiction, memoir—if it’s telling a great story, I’m in. My list reflects this; it’s a bit all over the place. What all these have in common is that they feature a powerful and compelling voice, something that is very important in my own work." —Nnedi Okorafor, author of Shadow Speaker.
